"CDC is committed to finding out what is causing this outbreak of lung injury and death among individuals using vaping products", Robert R. Redfield, MD, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a statement.
The number of vaping-related illnesses has surpassed 1,000, and there's no sign the outbreak is fading, USA health officials said Thursday.

Symptoms include coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever and fatigue. All of the patients examined had severe forms of the illness, and two had died. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has announced plans to ban sales of flavored e-cigarettes, and several states have enacted legislation restricting sales.

THC products may play a role in outbreak of lung injury associated with e-cigarette use, or vaping [news release].
Americans believe nicotine is a bigger public health threat than THC, according to a survey by researchers at NORC at the University of Chicago. Two were vaping in an effort to quit smoking tobacco and 12 reported vaping THC, cannabis oils, cannabidiol (CBD) or other non-nicotine products.
