Giuliani on Monday confirmed to Reuters that he was paid $500,000 a year ago for work he did on behalf of a company founded by Lev Parnas, one of the two Ukrainian-Floridian businessmen with close ties to Giuliani who were arrested last week and charged with violating federal campaign finance laws. According to the indictment, Correia and the other men planned a multi-state strategy to make between $1 to $2 million in political donations to federal and state committees where they were trying to get a recreational marijuana business started.
Giuliani is Trump's personal lawyer.
Attorneys for Correia and Kukushkin declined to comment at their initial court appearances.
Since the indictment, Giuliani has acknowledged receiving $500,000 in payments for work he did with Parnas. Giuliani said Parnas' company, Boca Raton-based Fraud Guarantee, whose website says it aims to help clients "reduce and mitigate fraud", engaged Giuliani Partners, a management and security consulting firm, around August 2018.
Trump has denied knowing Parnas and Fruman specifically, though he is pictured with the two at multiple events.

In recent days a federal grand jury in the Southern District of NY sent a subpoena to Sessions for documents and records.
