Suspected gunman in California high school shooting dies in hospital

Nathan Berhow, the 16-year-old student who is accused of killing two of his classmates, was pronounced dead Friday afternoon, officials say, CBSLA reports.
Kenino said investigators are trying to determine the origin of the.45 semi-automatic pistol used in the shooting.
School records show Berhow was a keen middle-distance track runner.
Dr. Bud Lawrence and his two daughters have supplied emergency kits to high schools in Santa Clarita through a related nonprofit they formed called "Keep the Pressure".
As of late Friday, it was still unclear if the campuses would reopen Monday.
In a statement, Bryan and Cindy Muehlberger said they shared the news of their daughter's death with "unexplainable brokenness".
Messages on Muehlberger's Instagram page read "I miss you so much already love" and "It's so sad that another innocent person has to die". A 14-year-old boy was treated and released from another hospital, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County coroner's office says 14-year-old Dominic Blackwell died Thursday along with 15-year-old Gracie Muehlberger. Doctors performed surgery and were able to remove the bullet, officials said.
The three injured students are in a stable condition.
"A remarkable experience, being with 14-, 15-year-old survivors, that are consoling you, not the other way around, " Newsom told Fox11. And some cared for victims who had been shot by a fellow student. It was his 16th birthday. The entire shooting took 16 seconds, Wegener said. A community vigil is being planned at 7 p.m. Sunday at Santa Clarita's Central Park.
