Notably, both papers, which traditionally have been generally very supportive of the NYPD, avoid using their covers to address police involvement in the weekend's violence-a narrative widely foregrounded by other media.
Cuomo said he was "outraged" that looters went largely unchecked by the police.
The protests also saw two incidents of NYPD vehicles driving directly into crowds of protesters.
De Blasio and Cuomo, who have frequently been at odds over the years, offered different versions of events Tuesday.
