The 33-year-old Saleh was discovered dead and dismembered in his Manhattan condo Tuesday afternoon, after his sister came to check on him after not hearing from him for a day.
The personal assistant to Fahim Saleh, founder of the Nigerian ride-sharing app Gokada, was arrested on Friday in the grisly murder of the 33-year-old tech entrepreneur in his Manhattan apartment, NY news media reported.
Detectives believe Saleh was killed after he found out his assistant had stolen tens of thousands of dollars from him, sources told the outlet.
The body parts of Fahim Saleh, who founded the popular motorbike-hailing app Gokada, were placed into separate plastic rubbish bags when police entered his apartment on Tuesday.
"It shows the victim getting into the elevator Monday, followed quickly by a second man, dressed in a suit, wearing gloves, a hat and a mask over his face", the New York Daily News reported.
He used a Taser to immobilise Mr Saleh and then stabbed him to death.
"The headlines talk about a crime we still can not fathom", Saleh's family said in a statement earlier this week.
As Saleh turned to walk to his apartment, which occupied the entire seventh floor of the 10-story building, the assailant stepped behind him.

Representatives for the New York Police Department declined to comment on the report.
Reacting to his sudden death, his family said in a statement on Wednesday that the gruesome killing was so shocking it was unfathomable.
"Fahim is more than what you are reading". When NYPD arrived they found the decapitated corpse of Fahim Saleh.
"His brilliant and innovative mind took everyone who was a part of his world on a journey and he made sure never to leave anyone behind".
Mr Saleh, who grew up in NY after moving from Saudi, founded a ride company called Pathao in 2015 and in 2018 the Gokada motorbike hailing app.
Investigators had been exploring whether the killing could have been related to Saleh's business dealings.
